Apollo Brown “The Times” Feat. Oddisee
“Apollo Brown “Clouds” has been out now for just over a month and is still going strong! The first pressing of CDs sold out in an amazing 2 days (Don’t worry it’s back in stock)! The demand has prompted a vinyl edition to be manufactured that will soon be available. In the meantime, Apollo cooked up some special edition features for all the loyal supporters.

Last week you heard Has-Lo & Apollo Brown join forces on Heirlooms, but this week it’s Oddisee & Apollo Brown on The Times. Oddisee, who is half Sudanese, doesn’t normally bring his politics to the table, but in this rare moment Oddisee offers an entire song devoted to the turbulent changes occurring in Northern Africa, in particular the historic vote that split his home country of Sudan into two separate nations. The Republic of Southern Sudan is now the newest African nation: listen to Oddisee break his thoughts down over the Apollo Brown beat.

Apollo Brown “Time Passed Autumn” (Video)
“Check out the video for the song “Time Passed Autumn” from Detroit producer, Apollo Brown, taken from his recently released album “Clouds” via Mello Music Group. The video is directed by Apollo Brown himself and gives fans some insight into his environment, his various influences, and recoding studio. Not bad for his first time using the camcorder and editing software!”

“Detroit producer Apollo Brown recently released his new instrumental opus Clouds to universal critical & popular acclaim. A lot of emcees have been laying down vocal sessions over the inspiring collection of beats, but when the newest emcee to sign with Mello Music Group decided to jump on Apollo’s Heirloom instrumental, we had to share it with the world.
Has-Lo begins his verse over the relaxed beat contemplating the discovery of priceless treasures lost to time, then lays “a partition between me and the sea of emcees” that casually weaves it’s way between claps, glimmering strings, and starightforward drums. As a bonus, the track fades out with cuts from Has-Lo himself.
