Gensu Dean Feat. David Banner “Alice In Wonderland” (Video)
“The Grand Imperial Gensu Dean caused waves with his Mello Music Group debut LP Lo-Fi Fingahz. Never one to rest on his laurels, the southern beat maestro is ready to announce his sophomore project with the legendary Planet Asia. The new project is titled Abrasions and will be out this winter! But to hold fans over in the meantime, Dean is dropping some new visuals for his collaboration with David Banner, “Alice In Wonderland”.
Conceived and directed by Calvan Fowler of Daydream Filmworks, the same mind and lens that directed Dean’s previous video “Forever feat. Large Professor”, this clip is a trip down the rabbit hole complete with mad hatters, giant rabbits and sadistic doctors. David Banner sounds energized as he plays off Deans’ smooth guitar sample in a two-verse tale about a woman done wrong. The two Mississippi natives show great chemistry in the clip, no surprise since the two go back years—their first work together was more than 10 years ago when Banner was in the heralded group, Crooked Lettaz.”
Gensu Dean Feat. Olivier Daysoul “Wantchu”
“Gensu Dean, the SP-1200 assassin, is at it again with a new 45 for vinyl heads that pairs the ultimate fast flow track “Ramesses feat. 7evenThirty & Homeboy Sandman”, with a brand new joint titled “Wantchu” featuring the UK-based songbird Olivier Daysoul.
“Wantchu” is not what you would expect from a producer touted for bringing that grimy flavor of 90’s rap back. Instead, Dean proves he can smooth things out just as quickly as he can make them rugged. The Imperial blesses Olivier Daysoul with a silky smooth canvas with just enough head-nod flavor to tie it all together. On his end, Mr. Daysoul lays a thick, syrupy ode to the conflicting feelings of infatuation. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself listening to this one on loop for a while.”
