“Homage” is a music series that pays respect to the musical giants that have forever altered the way we listen, sample and love music. On November 17th, “Homage” pays their esteem to Roy Ayers for his amazing impact and contribution to hip-hop, R&B, and neo-soul. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Roy Ayers will also be receiving a special award from the City of Los Angeles for his various contributions to music, signed by City Council members and the mayor of Los Angeles.
The good folks at HypeBeast premiered this Roy Ayers mix by DJ Anthony Valadez, which runs through various hits from Roy Ayers while accompanied by the various current day musicians that have sampled from his extensive catalogue.”
